55+ Scholarships with January 2023 Deadlines


The following scholarships include opportunities for middle school students, high school students, trade students, undergraduate students, graduate school students, Black or African American students, trade students, Asian or Pacific Islander students, and female students.


1st Financial Bank Financial Goals Scholarship. This is a monthly scholarship open to US residents age 18 and older who are planning to enroll or currently enrolled in a college degree program. This is a drawing or sweepstakes scholarship.

Award: $2000. Deadline: last day of every month


AIAA Scholarships. These scholarships from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronauts are open to sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate as well as graduate students. Applicants must be pursuing a program in science or engineering.

Award: up to $10,000. Deadline: January 31st.


APIA Scholarship Program. This scholarship is open to Asian or Pacific Islander students who are high school seniors or current undergraduate students and will be enrolled as an undergraduate in the upcoming fall semester. Applicants must have demonstrated financial need, a minimum GPA of 2.7 and are the first person in their family to attend college.

Award: up to $20,000. Deadline: January 19th.


Ambassadors of Aloha Scholarships. These scholarships are open to high school seniors and full time undergraduate students from Hawaii. Applicants must have participated in and plan to compete in the sports of: canoeing, surfing, kayaking, swimming, diving, water polo, sailing or volleyball.

Award: Amount is not disclosed. Deadline: January 31st.


AMS Graduate Fellowships. These scholarships are from the American Meteorological Society. They are open US citizens with a GPA minimum of 3.0. There are no age restrictions. Open to students pursuing graduate studies in the fields of atmospheric sciences, chemistry, computer sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, hydrology, mathematics, oceanography and physics.

Awards: $25,000. Deadline: January 1st.


Army Women’s Foundation. This scholarship is open to women who have served or is are serving honorably in the US Army, US Army Reserve or Army National Guard or the lineal descendant of a woman who has served honorable in the Army and is pursuing a certificate program or a 2-year, 4-year or graduate degree in STEM fields.

Awards: up to $2500. Deadline: January 20th.


Arthur W. Pense Scholarship. This scholarship is open to New York State residents who are enrolled in a physical therapy or occupational therapy degree program.

Award: $3000. Deadline: January 7th.


Automotive Women's Alliance Foundation Education Scholarship. This scholarship is open to female students who are already accepted to or enrolled in an accredited collegiate program, with a 3.0 or higher GPA and a citizen within North America. Must have North American citizenship and a passion for a career or advancement in the automotive, mobility and its related industries. While AWAF members and family members are encouraged to apply for scholarships, we encourage applicants who are not affiliated with the organization to also apply. Award: $2,500. Deadline: January 10th.


Boren Awards. These scholarships are designed for both undergraduate and graduate students for traveling and studying abroad for research and language study in world regions critical to US interests. Their program promotes linguistic and cultural immersion.

Awards: up to $25,000. Deadline: for graduate students for their travel fellowships is January 25th, and for undergraduate students for their scholarships is February 1st.


Brinkman Scholarship and Design Challenge. This scholarship is open to enrolled interior design college students.

Award: TBD. Deadline: January 16th.


Built Ford Tough Scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students who are FFA members. Applicants may be pursuing any academic major. Award: $1000. Deadline: January 12th.


Cancer for College Scholarships. These scholarships are open to cancer survivors who are attending trade school, 2-year, 4-year or graduate school programs.

Awards: $5000. Deadline: January 31st.


CCIS Future Contractor Scholarship. This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, current trade school students and part time and full-time college students pursuing contractor related fields.

Award: $750. Deadline: January 31st.


Cliff T. Wofford STEM Scholarship. This scholarship is open to Black or African American high school or undergraduate students in STEM with 3.0 GPA or higher.

Award: $1,500. Deadline: January 11th.


DAR Scholarships. These scholarships from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are open to US citizens regardless of gender. Multiple scholarships are awarded for high school students, undergraduate students and graduate students.

Award: amounts vary. Deadline: January 31st.


Dinah Shore Scholarship. This scholarship is open to female high school seniors who golf but will not be playing collegiate golf while they pursue a college education.

Award: $5000. Deadline: January 31st.


Discover Student Loans Scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school seniors, current college students and their parents. This scholarship is a sweepstakes.

Award: $5000. Deadline: January 31st.


Don’t Wait to Reach Your Potential Scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school students in grades 9 - 12. This scholarship is a drawing.

Award: $500. Deadline: January 6th.


eQuality Scholarship. This scholarship is open to Northern or Central California high school seniors, individuals planning to attend college or trade school, community college transfer students and medical students, who have demonstrated service to the LGBT+ community. Applicants of all sexual orientations and gender identities are eligible. This scholarship also provides the number of applicants who applied in the previous year.

Award: $6000. Deadline: January 31st.


Employment BOOST Academic Scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school seniors and 2 year and 4 year college students in the US with a GPA of 3.6 or higher. This scholarship is open to students pursuing any major. 1 scholarship will be given to a student pursuing any major and a 2nd scholarship will be given to a student pursuing business or STEM fields. Awards: $1000. Deadlines: accepted year round on a rolling basis.


EnergyRates.ca College Scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school seniors planning to enroll or students currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution. This is a non-fixed scholarship. Write an essay telling where you see the future of the energy industry.

Award: $500. Deadline: January 31st.


Earnest Scholarship. Open to enrolled or soon to be enrolled full-time college students. This is a scholarship sweepstakes.

Awards: $5000. Deadline: January 31st.


FriXion Student STEM Grant. This scholarship is open to students in 7th grade -12th grade. This scholarship celebrates students with a passion for STEM education. Multiple awards are offered.

Awards: up to $10,000. Deadline: January 14th.


Garden Club of America Board of Association Centennial Pollinator Fellowship. This scholarship is open to graduate level students interested in studying or researching pollination decline. Award: $4000. Deadline: January 15th.


Gensler Rising Black Designers Scholarship. This scholarship is open to Black or African American students enrolled in an architecture program.

Awards: up to $60,000. Deadline: January 16th.


Goldberg-Miller Public Finance Scholarship. These scholarships are open to graduate level students who are pursuing careers in state and local government. The scholarship is awarded through the Girard Miller Foundation.

Awards: up to $20,000. Deadline: January 14th.


Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is open to high school seniors, or currently enrolled vocational, 2-year or 4-year college students pursuing careers in agriculture. Award: $1500. Deadline: January 12th.


I Have a Dream Scholarship. This scholarship is open to students ages 14 and older who plan to enroll or are enrolled in a college or trade school. Must be a US citizen.

Award: $1500. Deadline: January 31st.


Innovation in Education Scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school and college students who have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others with a GPA minimum of 3.0. Open to students in the US and Canada.

Award: $500. Deadline: 20th of every month.


International Documentary Photography Scholarship. This scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students worldwide regardless of academic major. This scholarship is intended to encourage personal involvement in social issues and promote socially conscious documentary photography. Award will be mailed to the recipient in the form of a bank check.

Award: $1000. Deadline: January 1st.


Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. This scholarship is open to students at a community college seeking to complete their degrees at a 4-year college or university.

Award: up to $120,000 total with $40,000 awards given per year up to 3 years. Deadline: January 6th.


John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest. This scholarship is open to United States high school students in grades nine through twelve attending public, private, parochial, or home schools; U.S. students under the age of twenty enrolled in a high school correspondence/GED program in any of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, or the U.S. territories; and U.S. citizens attending schools overseas. Essays must describe an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born. The official may have addressed an issue at the local, state, or national level. Multiple Awards offered.

Awards: up to $10,000. Deadline: January 13th, 2023.

Landholm Scholarship. This scholarship is for enrolled college students from Nebraska who are pursuing veterinary medicine.

Awards: up to $4500. Deadlines: January 1st and September 1st


Leaders Save Lives Scholarship. This scholarship is from the American Red Cross. This scholarship is open to high school and college students including trade schools or community college. Simply organize a blood drive within these time frames.

Awards: up to $2500. Deadlines are: December 15th-January 15th, & June 1st- August 31st.


Lois Britt Memorial Pork Industry Scholarship. This scholarship is open to current undergraduate students at a 2-year or 4-year agricultural or swine program. This is for US citizens only. Several scholarships are awarded.

Award: $2500. Deadline: January 3rd.


Margaret McNamara Education Grants. These educational grants are awarded to women who intend to work in or with a developing country to improve the lives of women or children. Applicants must be at least 25 years old. Recipients can pursue travel to Latin America, South Africa and Canada.

Awards: up to $15,000. Deadlines: are September 15th or January 15th depending on travel plans.


Marilynn Smith Scholarship. This scholarship is open to female high school seniors who will be playing golf at the collegiate level. This scholarship is from the LPGA Foundation and the Marilyn Smith Scholarship Fund.

Award: $5000. Deadline: January 31st.


Marvel Optics National Scholarship Contest. This scholarship is open to any current, full-time student at an accredited two-year or four-year American university or college is welcome to apply. Students must write 300-word essay or 1-minute video to social media in response to the following prompt: Helen Keller said, “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” What does that mean to you?

Award: $1,500. Deadlines are: August 15th for the fall semester and January 5th for the spring semester.


MyMozaic Scholarship. This monthly scholarship is open to US citizens ages 13 and older. This is a scholarship sweepstakes or drawing.

Award: $1,000. Deadline: last day of every month


National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school seniors who are U.S. citizens and are planning careers of service to the United States in local, state, or federal government. All awards are for one year. Write a one-page essay on why you're planning a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. Multiple awards. Awards: $5,000. Deadline: January 15th


NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. This scholarship is open to college students’ athletes who excel academically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics.

Award: $10,000. Deadline: January 10th.


NJCPA Scholarship. This scholarship is open to New Jersey undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing Graduate level programs in accounting.

Awards: up to $6500. Deadline: January 6th.


Opportunity Scholarship. This is an opportunity for high school senior DACA eligible students from AK, NC, SC, ND, SD, GA, IN, IA, LA, MI, MS, WV and WI with a minimum GPA of 2.8. This scholarship is open to students planning on attending a college or university in the Opportunity Scholarship network.

Award: up to $80,000. Deadline: January 31st.


PBWC Academic Scholarship. This scholarship is open to female high school senior students from California. This scholarship is awarded from the Professional BusinessWomen of California.

Awards: up to $15,000. Deadline: January 28th.


Pelipost Overcoming Adversity Scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school or undergraduate student seeking a college education while overcoming the challenges of having an incarcerated parent/guardian. Must write an essay. Multiple awards given. Award: $2,000. Deadline: January 31st.


Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship. This scholarship is open to female high school senior minority students who plan to play golf at the collegiate level. This is a needs-based scholarship. Award: $5000. Deadline: January 31st.


Race to Inspire Scholarship. This scholarship is open to students who are enrolled in an accredited college or university the same year the essay is submitted. Must write an essay sharing your race story.

Award: $500. Deadline: January 1st.


Ron Brown Scholar Program. This scholarship is open to Black/African American high school seniors who are US citizens with financial need.

Award: $40,000. Deadline: January 9th.


Ronald Reagan Presidential Scholars Program. This scholarship is open to high school seniors from Ventura County California with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Awards: up to $10,000. Deadline: January 31st.


SBB Research Group STEM Scholarship. This scholarship is open to students enrolled full time at a college or university, who are pursuing STEM fields (science, technology, engineering or mathematics). Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. This scholarship is open to students worldwide and there are no age restrictions.

Award: $2,500. Deadline: on a rolling basis (12 awarded per year).


Samuel Huntington Public Service Award. This scholarship is open to graduating college seniors, who have an interest in pursuing public service anywhere in the world.

Award: $15,000. Deadline: January 13th.


Smith Diversity Scholarship. The Coyner and Donna Smith Diversity Scholarship Fund. These scholarships are open to Nebraska high school seniors pursuing 4-year or trade school programs and have demonstrated financial need. These scholarships are organized by Lutheran Family Services.

Awards: up to $25,000. Deadline: January 14th.


Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship. This scholarship is open to 9th-12th grade high school students, undergraduate and graduate students including home schooled students who are US citizens. There are no age limits.

Award: $1000. Deadline: January 30th.


The AFC Fellowship Scholarship. This scholarship is open to students who must hold a PhD degree in Art History not received before May 30, 2020. Pre-doctoral candidates may apply if the PhD degree will be awarded before commencement of the Fellowship. Applicants must be United States Citizens. The applicant must also specialize in Early Modern European Art, preferably Italian Renaissance and/or Baroque art. A working knowledge of spoken and written Italian is essential.

Award: amount not disclosed. Deadline: January 15th.


The Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship. This scholarship is open to students who must be full-time graduate students with a course of study that has a relationship to state/local government finance, be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and provide a letter of recommendation. Award: $20,000. Deadline: January 6th


The Homer Fund Orange Scholars Scholarship Program. scholarship is open to high school senior, college freshman, college sophomore, or college junior planning to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in the fall of 2023. In addition, must be a dependent of a full- or part-time hourly associate of The Home Depot and its subsidiaries, The Home Depot Canada, or The Home Depot Mexico at the time of application. Multiple awards given.

Awards: up to $2,500. Deadline: January 21st.


The May Firm Scholarship. This bi-annual scholarship is for enrolled community college or university students. Write about one traumatic experience you experienced in your life and how you overcame it.

Award: $1000. Deadlines are: September 15th and January 5th
